Ether is a suspension lamp that illuminates and transforms space through cascading compositions of transparent hand-blown borosilicate glass spheres.

Designed by Patrick Jouin, it is composed of clusters of glass elements available in three different sizes, each handmade and featuring a unique irregular surface, ensuring that no two pieces are alike. The result is an ethereal composition of glass and sparkling light that captivates and enchants. Ether is available in three standard versions (Ether S, Ether S 90, and Ether S 150), but can be customized in any size, finish, or configuration. Today, Ether evolves with the integration of LED light sources, enhancing energy efficiency and light quality, while also offering new possibilities for bespoke installations thanks to an expanded range of ceiling canopies. The new matte white metal canopies are now available in two round sizes (Ø48 cm and Ø68 cm) and in a square version (70×70 cm), designed for both single and modular installations. These canopies allow multiple elements to be arranged in linear, clustered, or square compositions, providing greater design flexibility.

Patrick Jouin
It was no coincidence that Patrick Jouin was born on June 5, 1967, in Nantes, a city whose motto is “May Neptune watch over sailors.” After graduating from the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (ENSCI) in 1992, the designer founded his own agency in 1998 in Paris’s 11th arrondissement. Since then, he has become a key figure on the international design scene. Patrick Jouin stands out for his refined and sometimes bold designs, mentally linking the mortise and tenon joints of his creations with the same elegance and mastery with which he organizes their material composition. Jouin’s designs have never sought to make statements: they are neither allegorical nor do they proclaim a new era embodied in objects or space.
